PIERS HERNU

 

Piers studied law at University before becoming a traded options broker in The City. He then left to go travelling and ended up spending eight months in a Kathmandu jail for gold smuggling. On his release he wrote about his story for men’s magazine Loaded and then pursued a career in journalism. He then launched, and was the award winning editor of, Front magazine for four years (featured in BBC2’s Trouble Between The Covers) before joining FHM as a columnist and then Editor At Large. He has/is a regular contributor to Radio 5, Radio 4, Radio 2, Richard and Judy, Sky News, Five News, BBC Breakfast News, BBC News 24, Newsnight, Littlejohn and numerous other chat show/documentary/talking heads and radio shows where he is most frequently asked for opinions on: laddism, new magazines, sex, gender wars, modern men, drinking and changing cultural trends. After an eighteen month stint producing and co-presenting the Saturday and Sunday night chat shows on Talksport with Ian Collins (8pm-1am) he reviewed musicals, plays and exhibitions for London TV’s “Tell Me Where To Go”. He is currently a features writer at The Mail On Sunday’s men’s magazine Event where he writes interviews, adrenalin sports and experiential features.
